This weekend, the French D2 Men took place at the Bréquigny pool in Rennes. The LUC Lille team won the Champion title.
A failure can become a success. Not qualified for the third round of D1 for the first time in their history, the Lillois have recovered to win the title of Division 2 champion. Undefeated throughout the competition, Joel Triboult’s teammates had big problems beating Neuilly in their clashes. The semi-final between these two teams was extremely close and the epilogue was decided in the last seconds of play for a 2-1 final victory for LUC.
Well supported by Corbie, their compatriots from Hauts-de-France, in the final against the local team of Rennes 2, the Lillois won easily 5-2.
After a thrilling match, the Squales of Neuilly, who finished ahead of Lille in round 2 of the D1, completed the podium with a victory over Corbie. Trailing twice in the score, the Corbeans battled hard to go to sudden death but the Squales finally managed to win and move up to 3rd place.
