End of the first day of competition in Sarcelles for the French Open League final ! Our team of journalists was present and saw some great things.

In pool A, Dinan did a wonderful job by finishing first in their group without any defeat ! Olivier Flandrin’s men started with an impressive victory against Fontenay (5-0), but drew with Moirans (1-1) before putting up an incredible fight against Southsea in the last game of the day (4-2 victory). Moirans secure the second place in the group, while Southsea are third. Fontenay, disappointed and ranked fourth. Stephane Royer’s team is a three-time winner in this French Open League and will have to focus before the play-offs on Sunday morning.

In pool B, the battle was tough between Clamart and Morlaix for the first place but it is the Bretons who take the first place in the pool thanks to their victory over Clamart (2-3). Clermont takes the 3rd place while Jacques Bréchaire’s Elite Feminines fall to the 4th place of this group after a rather complicated beginning of the day with a defeat against the recently promoted in round 3 of D1 men, Clamart.

Finally in the group C, Le Chesnay won the maximum of points possible (15 out of 15 possible) and finishes this first day at the first place of its group just in front of the U24 W who only had one defeat. For the third place, we find the tri-club Rendinantes. Present to prepare for the D1, the Hope women’s team had a very difficult day and finished in last place of the group with 5 losses. Sabrina Bezghiche’s girls will try to raise their heads this Sunday.
