After a final training camp in January 2023, the coach of the Colombian women’s elite team, Felipe Diaz, has announced the names of the players who will go to the World Championship in Australia this summer.
This is the first Elite Women’s team to have published its selection, almost six months before the competition. Five players (excluding reserves) from the team that won bronze in Quebec in 2018 have been selected for the Gold Coast, including captain Natalia Pérez and vice-captain Ana Lucía Guevara. Already present in Canada but also in 2019 with the U24 team, Manuela Calle is part of this roster. Her partner at Sheffield, Michel Herrera, also joins the Elite team. The forward trio is made up of three Club Cardumen players including Natalia Buriticá, top scorer in the last Colombian national championship. The defending champions are the most represented club with seven players (excluding reserves).
