Review of the first day of D1 !

Lire en français

This is the end of the first day of the French D1 championship! Two years later, the highest national underwater hockey division was back in Sarcelles, and we saw some great things that we will resume for you.

D1F : Pontoise on top, Rennes the outsider and Fontenay in danger !

Pontoise is always so confident. The players, led by their captain Cécile Roussel and with Juliette Macquet omnipresent and decisive, got the better of all their opponents. A perfect record of four wins, best attack and best defence. For the moment everything is going well for the defending champions.

One of the good surprises of this first day of D1 is the team from Rennes. They won three times, including a 6-1 victory over Chesnay and a decent 3-1 defeat against Pontoise. For now, the Rennes team is having a successful start to the championship.

Despite this loss to Rennes, Le Chesnay is still in good form with only one defeat. They will open the second day of this round with a match against Pontoise tomorrow at 8am. A decisive match to avoid Rennes taking the lead for second place.

Hope and Hyères are almost tied with the same record and almost the same statistics of goals scored and conceded. Both teams will face each other tomorrow at 10am for what could be a decisive game.

Pessac and Moirans, two very young teams, have managed to get a victory, in both cases against Fontenay. They hope to keep their place among the French hockey elite. Pessac against Moirans will be one of the decisive matches for the maintenance, see you at 9:30.

For the moment, Fontenay is behind with four defeats. The players from Ile-de-France had to deal with the absence of some foreign players who should be there tomorrow. This is a good opportunity for the 4th of the last round 1, two years ago, to get back in the race for the survival.

Here are all the results and the ranking at the halfway point of the first round of the women’s division as well as Sunday’s programme :

D1M : Moirans and Rennes first of their pool

In pool A, Rennes assumed their status as double French champions and finished first in their pool. With a victory (2-1) in the opening game against Dinan in the Breton derby, the Rennes team had started their group phase perfectly before ending it with a crushing 9-0 victory against Pessac at the end of the day despite a draw against Pontoise (3-3). Dinan finished second in the group ahead of Pontoise.

The Val d’Oise club, Pontoise, was one of the sensations of the day with a draw against Rennes and a very short defeat against Dinan (2-1). Finally, Pessac and Franconville close the list in pool A.

In group B, Moirans created the first big performance of the day. Against Fontenay, the Isérois triumphed over the Francilians with a score of 2-0. Moirans then continued its perfect record with wins in all the games, improving its goal-average (+20) and also securing first place with a total of zero goals conceded.

For Fontenay, things were more difficult. The players from Seine-et-Marne were really struggling throughout the day with some hard-fought victories. They still finished second in their group ahead of Le Chesnay, Saintes and Diderot XII.

Here are all the results, the rankings at the halfway point of the first round of the men’s division as well as Sunday’s programme :
