On this second day of competition, the most eagerly awaited match of the day — and certainly the most tense and spectacular — happened this morning during the Under 19 division with a clash between Turkiye and France.The atmosphere inside the Gebze swimming pool was electric. Both teams committed numerous fouls, but the match also produced some spectacular play, with counterattacks coming from both sides. At the end, neither team managed to take the upperhand, and this intense match finished in a 2–2 draw.The two teams therefore share the second place in the group stage. Colombia is also looking to change the current ranking, having the same results as their direct rivals: two wins and one draw. First place belongs to New Zealand, who have maintained a perfect record so far. The reigning world champions are therefore living up to their status at this stage of the competition. Unfortunately for Poland, they remain at the bottom of the standings after suffering a series of defeats since yesterday.

The day started at full speed, with two big victories in the women’s U19 category. New Zealand destroyed its neighbour Australia 13–0. It is worth remembering that the Australians are the actual world champions, while New Zealand had only managed to claim third place two years ago in Kuala Lumpur.Colombia has also continued its excellent run and remain unbeaten in the competition after defeating both Great Britain and Australia. The French team are for now in the third place of the league. Meanwhile, Turkiye also finished this second day of competition in third place with the same amount of points. Turkiye and France could not be separated in their match today, which ended in a 2–2 draw. South Africa suffers defeats after defeats and currently sits at the bottom of the standings.

In the men’s U24 competition, South Africa keep going and adds two more victories today, taking their winning streak to four matches. They are closely followed by Australia, who also has a perfect record but has played one match fewer at the end of this second day. The current world champions New Zealand were defeated around midday by their great rivals Australia, who finished as runners-up at the previous World Championships. At the same time, USA still not managed to claim its first points of the tournament and is now suffering its second and third consecutive defeats.Argentina, by contrast, opened its points tally with a victory over the Netherlands. Great Britain also secured its first win by defeating a disoriented Dutch side. It should be remembered that the Netherlands finished an impressive third at the World Championships in Malaysia two years ago.

Finally, in the women’s U24 competition, New Zealand has continued its winning strike by defeating both Australia and Argentina. France, the reigning runners-up, bounced back from a difficult opening day with a victory over Colombia.Turkey managed to get the biggest score of the World Championships so far, inflicting an 18–0 defeat on the United States. The American team have now conceded no 41 goals in just three matches in the competition.Argentina and South Africa are currently neck and neck, with the same number of points after both getting two victories and one defeat.
